Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the TabTab app (hereby referred to as "Application") for macOS that was created by QI ZHI (hereby referred to as "Service Provider"). TabTab is sold as a subscription through Polar; existing lifetime licenses were sold through Lemon Squeezy. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?

TabTab uses TelemetryDeck to collect anonymized usage analytics (such as daily user counts). When you activate, check or deactivate a TabTab license, the Application sends your license key, this Mac's activation identifier and a device label made from your Mac's name (for example "TabTab on Jane's MacBook") to the license provider: Polar for subscriptions, Lemon Squeezy for lifetime licenses. Your IP address is visible to the provider when the Application connects. These checks repeat periodically so the Application can confirm your license. Window and tab data stays on your Mac.

Does the Application collect precise real time location information of the device?

This Application does not collect any information about the location of your Mac.

Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?

Polar processes subscription license checks and Lemon Squeezy processes existing lifetime license checks. Those providers receive the licensing information described above. TelemetryDeck processes anonymized usage analytics according to its privacy policy. Website email signups and purchase contact records are described separately below.

What are my opt-out rights?

Uninstalling TabTab stops the Application's future analytics and license-check requests. Uninstalling does not cancel subscription billing or remove purchase and email records. Cancel future renewals through the subscription portal, and use the update emails' unsubscribe link to stop marketing emails.

Data Retention

License keys and activation information are stored locally to keep TabTab activated. Polar and Lemon Squeezy retain purchase and license records according to their policies. Anonymized analytics data handled by TelemetryDeck is retained according to its privacy policy. Email contact and consent records are retained while needed to provide updates and honor your preferences, including minimal unsubscribe and suppression records.

Website signups and updates

If you sign up for updates, we store your email address, optional name, signup source, consent record, and subscription status in Cloudflare. We use Resend to deliver update emails. Purchase contact records from Polar (subscriptions) and Lemon Squeezy (lifetime licenses) may be linked to the same email address; a purchase or subscription does not subscribe you to updates or override an unsubscribe. Your IP address is used to limit signup abuse. Cloudflare Turnstile checks signup requests for bots in the background. See Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

You can unsubscribe through the link in each update email. We keep a minimal suppression record so that importing contacts or making another purchase does not add you back to the mailing list. To request access to or deletion of your contact information, email hello@tabtabapp.net.

Children

The Application is not used to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. The Service Provider encourages all children to never submit any personally identifiable information through the Application and/or Services. The Service Provider encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children's Internet usage and to help enforce this Policy by instructing their children never to provide personally identifiable information through the Application and/or Services without their permission. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personally identifiable information to the Service Provider through the Application and/or Services, please contact the Service Provider (hello@tabtabapp.net) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions. You must also be at least 16 years of age to consent to the processing of your personally identifiable information in your country (in some countries we may allow your parent or guardian to do so on your behalf).

Security

TabTab uses access controls and encrypted connections to protect contact information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Email subscription links contain private tokens; please do not share them.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to their Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

Your Consent

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by the Service Provider.
